AMBER HOJARI FRANKINCENSE
Origin: Oman | Hand-selected
Appearance: Pale yellow-green natural resin.
Aroma: Fresh, clean and delicate, with subtle lime and lemon-peel nuances, soft woody notes and a hint of natural sweetness.
Included in: Plus (25g) and Pro (25g).

NATURAL MYRRH
Aroma: Warm, earthy and woody, with a subtle touch of natural sweetness. This selected myrrh has no noticeable bitter aroma.
Included in: Plus (25g) and Pro (25g).

BENZOIN RESIN
Aroma: Warm, sweet and balsamic, with characteristic vanilla-like nuances.
Included in: Pro (25g).

ROYAL GREEN HOJARI FRANKINCENSE
Origin: Oman
Aroma: Fresh, bright and refined, with citrus-like and resinous nuances.
Included in: Pro (25g).

Each natural resin has its own aromatic character. Appearance and aroma may vary slightly between batches. The resin collection is not included in Basic.

DIRECT CHARCOAL HEATING — Bold & Traditional
Natural resin is placed directly onto hot charcoal for a rich, intense and traditional aromatic experience. This method typically produces a stronger aroma and more visible smoke.

INDIRECT MICA HEATING — Gentle & Refined
An included mica sheet separates resin from direct charcoal contact, helping reduce scorching and allowing delicate aromas to develop more gradually.

Heating results depend on resin type, charcoal temperature and use conditions.

Aurooa Lotus is designed for traditional natural resin incense, including frankincense, myrrh and benzoin. Its versatile structure also accommodates incense materials such as sage and Palo Santo.

The elevated steel mesh provides an open support surface, allowing air to reach burning materials from below and encouraging natural airflow. Fine ash can pass through the mesh and collect in the ceramic vessel.

Removable Steel Mesh: Supports charcoal above the ceramic base and allows fine ash to collect below.

Wooden-Handled Fork: Helps handle compatible burner components while reducing direct hand contact with hot surfaces. Do not move the burner while charcoal is burning.

Incense Spoon & Tweezers: Convenient for picking up and positioning small pieces of natural resin incense.

3x Mica Sheets: Create a separation layer between resin and charcoal, helping reduce direct scorching during indirect heating.

Review

 I've had this for just over three weeks and still haven't made it through all eleven resins. I started with the Royal Green, then compared the Somali and Ethiopian frankincense on separate evenings. They're definitely not interchangeable — some are brighter, while others feel much drier or earthier. The 10g jars looked small when I opened the box, but considering how little I use each time, they're plenty for sampling properly.

 I've always burned frankincense on charcoal, so the first thing I noticed was how different the scent was with this burner. I started with the dish fairly high above the candle and lowered it little by little. The Royal Green took a few minutes to warm up, but once it did I could smell the fresh, slightly citrusy notes much more clearly. With charcoal I usually get a stronger hit of smoke straight away. This is slower, but much nicer for an evening indoors.

 I bought this mostly because I wanted to try the Royal Green. The pieces I received were genuinely green rather than the yellowish frankincense I've bought before. I only use two or three small pieces at a time, so the 20g goes further than I expected. The scent is cleaner and brighter than my usual frankincense, especially when warmed slowly.

 I sent this directly to my mum for her birthday, so I didn't see it until she opened it on a video call. The packaging was much nicer than I expected. The burner and resin tins had their own places rather than everything moving around loose in the box. She was able to set it up that evening without needing me to explain much.

 I've been using mine on a desk in the spare room rather than in a large living room. One tea light gives more than enough warmth for that space, and I like that I don't end up with the charcoal smell lingering afterwards. I usually warm the resin for 20–30 minutes, blow out the candle and sometimes come back to the same resin later. It makes a small amount last surprisingly well.

 There was a bit of trial and error on the first evening. I put the dish too close to the flame and the resin started smoking more than I wanted. Once I raised it a couple of centimetres, it settled down and released fragrance without much visible smoke. I'd suggest starting higher than you think and moving down slowly.
